Join the team at 320 Guest Ranch, located in the beautiful Gallatin Canyon between Big Sky, Montana, and Yellowstone National Park, as a Wrangler. In this role, you will oversee the care and upkeep of our herd of trail and draft horses, while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests on the trails and rides. This position is perfect for someone with guest ranch wrangling experience and a strong horse background, as well as a passion for delivering an exceptional ranch experience.

Job Duties Include:

  • Assist with the departure of trail rides, assigning horses, and preparing for the next group.
  • Manage the care and upkeep of the herd of trail and draft horses, including feeding, saddling/harnessing, and grooming.
  • Lead and supervise trail rides, ensuring guest and horse safety while providing an enjoyable and informative experience.
  • Drive draft horse teams for various ranch activities: sleigh rides in the winter and wagon rides in the summer.
  • Clean stalls and maintain the barn area to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the horses.
  • Perform basic first aid for horses and manage herd health, showing any issues or injuries.
  • Maintain safety and work with the ranch team to uphold health and safety standards during all activities.
  • Chopping and stacking firewood at cabins, performing snow removal, and other winter ranch maintenance duties. Operating and maintaining chainsaws.
  • Operating and maintaining ranch equipment and vehicles.
  • Perform various other ranch chores and tasks across departments as assigned by ranch management.

Key Qualifications:

  • Extensive guest ranch wrangling experience and a strong background in horse care.
  • Knowledge and experience driving draft horse teams are required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (required).
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including winter tasks like snow removal and firewood stacking.
  • Ability to safely lead and supervise trail rides while ensuring the safety of both guests and horses.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Truck and trailer driving experience
  • Flexibility to take on additional ranch tasks as needed, including winter ranch maintenance and sleigh driving.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with guests and provide a positive experience.
