How does spending the summer working in the mountains right outside of Glacier National Park sound?
We have three positions available for the upcoming season! We are in need of one Wrangler/Ranch Hand and two cabin staffers. Please read the entire description.
Wrangler/ Ranch Hand
Are you a great western style horseback rider? Can you lead trail rides through the mountains of Kalispell? Can you bust your tail from the moment the sun comes up until the day is done? Are you good at fencing, working horses and having a good time doing it all while making a competitive wage?
Work on the Lonesome Dove is unlike your standard guest or dude ranch. We are different and we are a family. You won't spend all day in front of a string of horses or all day driving T-posts. Each day holds a new project and we have plenty! Days often start early when it is cool outside. We will tackle large projects and feed our 15 horses, 20 head of cattle, and our two bison. Around 9 am rides will start for the day. The trails over look Kalispell with the mountains of Glacier in the background. Many of our guests come from Europe, so there is always plenty to talk about. There is always 30mins- 1 hour for lunch. Some days there will be no rides and we will work cattle or train horses. Each day wraps up around 5-6pm and the fun begins. Being only 10 minutes from Kalispell, there are plenty of things to do after work such as hit the gym, bar or casino.

Cabin Staff
We are looking to bring on two cabin staff for the summer! Life as a cabin staffer is pretty great. Days start at 7-8am and often end before 6pm. You'll also have 30mins to an hour for lunch each day. We have a restaurant that serves breakfast 6 days a week and dinner 3-4 days. Breakfast runs from 8-9:30 and dinners are 4:30-6. The bulk of your day will be helping clean our 6 cabins, 4 wall tents and 3 teepees. Our staff last year could clean and have new sheets, towels, etc. in less than 4 hours. You'll have plenty of opportunity to earn tips each day in addition to your hourly wage. If you're interested, shoot your resume over or call. Housing
We provide housing for all employees. Cabin Staff are separate from wranglers. Each will have your own bed, AC, and refrigerator.
Pay
So you want to know how much you'll be making? Better than most guest/ dude ranches! We start everyone at $10 an hour plus tips. However, we increase pay after the first two weeks! We also pay weekly. Each week you're likely to be looking at a $500 + $200/$300 in tips.
Hours
Wrangler/ Ranch Hands can expect 45-65 hours a week!
Cabin Staff can expect 40-50 hours!
Time Off
We aren't going to hire you right next to Glacier National Park and not give you time to explore and spend your money. Everyone gets two days off a week with the option to work if they'd like. We are also very flexible with changing shifts and if you need a day off.
Free Time
When the day is done, feel free to socialize with our guests around a fire or take out a horse or enjoy the Montana sunsets.
