Seeking individual to manage a 300 cow ranch in South Central Montana. Employee will be responsible for all aspects of cattle husbandry. Including, but not limited to, winter feeding with tractor and hay processor, calving/tagging/banding/records, pasture moves, providing daily care, salt/mineral supplements, checking and maintaining water tanks and spring developments.
Employee will be solely responsible for 300 cows in winter and 500 pairs during summer grazing.
Ranch has extensive fencing requirements, and knowledge of stock water systems is needed. Stock water systems include solar pumps, springs tanks, storage tanks and water lines, and generators. You will be part of a larger ranching operation, but are expected to make this part of the operation your own.
There is no irrigation, farming or haying on this ranch. Winter feed is purchased and trucked into the location.
Ability to handle problems and fix situations by yourself is a must. Modest machinery and equipment repair and upkeep is needed.
Modest country living home is available on the ranch.
