WEEKEND HORSE BARN HELP – Private Ranch, Sperry, OK
(part-time position – weekends + select weekdays)
Required Qualifications:
- 18+ years of age
- Two years working in a professional equestrian setting under trainer supervision. Preference given to those with 5 years or more riding experience in a lesson program. References required.
- Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly
- Clean drug test and background check
Essential Skills:
- Horse care: leading, tying, grooming, blanketing, feeding, stall cleaning
- Ability to identify potential health issues and spoiled feed or hay
- Operation of basic ranch equipment ie ATV with manure spreader (truck & 2-horse slant trailer a bonus)
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail
- Capacity to work in extreme weather conditions
Primary Responsibilities:
- Daily horse care (feeding, grooming, watering, turnout, blanketing)
- Facility maintenance (stall cleaning, turnout trough/ water bucket cleaning, paddock/pasture upkeep- cleaning & dragging)
- Barn management (cleaning common areas, stocking feed, managing hay/shavings)
