Position: Kennel Staff
Compensation: Based on Experience
Our prestigious dog show kennel is looking for a couple of dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team. We are offering full-time or part time positions with housing provided for full time if needed. While experience is preferred, we are willing to train the “right candidates”. Please note that simply having pet experience or a love for dogs is not sufficient; we require candidates with professional experience working with animals.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking two full-time kennel staff members who will uphold our high standards of care for our show dogs. Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays. This isn’t just watching dogs .
Responsibilities:
- Interact and play with the dogs
- Monitor dogs at all times to ensure their safety and proper care
- Oversee feedings and observe/document any issues or problems
- Communicate effectively with other staff and management
- Travel may be required occasionally
Qualifications:
- Experience in an animal care environment
- Sufficient dog handling skills
- Ability to take direction from management
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment/ picking up poop and cleaning runs
- Work independently to complete tasks proficiently
- Physically vigorous, able to stand or walk 90% of the workday
Duties Include:
- Walking, feeding, and watering dogs
- Cleaning cages, janitorial work, and bathing dogs
- Grooming and constant cleaning up after dogs
- Grooming skills are a plus, training provided if necessary. It’s a very unique skill
Desired Attributes:
- Patient and loving with dogs
- Common sense and good judgment
- Positive attitude and ability to interact well with staff. A lot of patients
- Professional communication skills
- Detail-oriented, conscientious, and dependable
