We’re seeking a kind, reliable, trustworthy live-in caretaker (or couple) for our 40 acre family ranch near Julian, CA. Five well behaved horses, four donkeys, barn cat, seven cows and a small flock of hens.

Daily horse care (feed twice, blanketing in winter) stall & pen cleaning, and basic ranch maintenance including minor fencing and irrigation repairs as needed, light landscaping / pruning, maintenance of driveways and weed-whacking in spring. Light housekeeping and building repairs, machinery maintenance. Tractor-driving experience required. Exercise riding opportunity for experienced riders (must be a calm, confident rider). Light animal healthcare knowledge a bonus.

We are negotiable on the compensation structure based on experience / hours and can provide accommodation in an apartment above the barn in full or partial exchange for work (electric bill tenant’s responsibility but water & WiFi included). Possible opportunity for additional hours / income at neighboring ranches.
