Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Hunting Operations Manager to oversee our hunting program at Cedar Cove Ranch. This role requires coordinating daily hunting operations, providing exceptional hospitality, and maintaining the highest level of customer service.

IMPORTANT: If you do not have previous experience working at a hunting ranch in an Operations management position, you ARE NOT the right fit for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Hunting Operations Management

  • Plan, organize, and manage daily hunting operations to ensure efficiency and exceptional guest experiences
  • Manage hunting P&L and optimize financial performance
  • Oversee wildlife management and inventory
  • Work with Wildlife Biologists, TPWD, and similar agencies, ensuring compliance with all necessary state regulations
  • Develop and implement animal purchase plans, working with breeders to plan animal purchases and transport
  • Manage hunting grounds, blinds/stands, and game camera maintenance
  • Lead and support hunting-related projects from planning through implementation
  • Oversee food crop and feed management

Hunt Planning & Execution

  • Schedule hunting activities and match clients with appropriate guides
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain hunting zone rotations
  • Coordinate trophy care, processing, and transportation
  • Provide support for company retreats as occasionally required
  • Coordinate and lead activities such as shooting sports, fishing, water activities, UTV rides, and more
  • Address guest complaints in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain the highest standard of service according to company operating procedures and core values
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships

Equipment & Land Infrastructure Management

  • Maintain hunting infrastructure (blinds, stands, feeders, processing facilities)
  • Manage hunting vehicles, weapons inventory, and safety equipment
  • Oversee shooting ranges, game cameras, and field equipment
  • Operate large tractors and implements including box blade, batwing mower, disc harrow, tiller/cedar/cultipacker, etc.
  • Support equipment/hunting vehicle maintenance planning

Safety, Compliance & Administration

  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain required permits/licenses
  • Manage hunting program budgets and track operational metrics
  • Process licenses and maintain detailed operational records

Staff Development & Administrative Duties

  • Train guides and ranch staff
  • Enhance/Develop necessary standard operating procedures and lead implementation
  • Support the development of future goals and strategies for hunting/sportsmen programs
  • Handle sales and bookings, including upselling, proactive sales, and cross-marketing for sportsmen
  • Support sportsmen’s marketing initiatives, including attending conferences, and events, building business relationships, and managing vendor/partner relationships

Success Metrics

  • Guest satisfaction, team performance, and operational efficiency
  • Revenue enhancement and P&L management

Qualifications

  • Required Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Hunting Operations and 5 years in management
  • Proven expertise in guiding hunts and wildlife management
  • Strong leadership abilities and hospitality experience
  • Proficiency with hunting equipment, vehicles, and agricultural implements
  • Experience with fishing and other shooting sports

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, wildlife management, or a relevant field
  • Knowledge of Texas wildlife regulations and luxury hospitality experience
