Large private mountain ranch is seeking a motivated, hardworking individual for summer (possibly spring/fall) work. This ranch is maintained to the utmost level for absentee owners, and operates as an outfitting business in the fall. Main responsibilities will include flood irrigating (six days a week), weed spraying (a few days a week), running a chainsaw and road/trail clearing, fence repair, some carpentry and building projects, shovel work, bucking hay, wildland fire fighting (no experience required) and small engine upkeep and repair (recommended but not required). Year round and management staff wear lots of hats and this position will require the same – sometimes helping with cabin cleaning if housekeepers are in a bind, running errands in town, etc.
The closest town is an hour away, cell service is about 20 minutes away. If you are comfortable in remote places where solitude, mountains, miles of private river access and stocked fishing ponds, endless trails, and abundant wildlife as your only companions (besides a couple other ranch employees) – then this is for you. This hand will be living alone in an older but clean mobile home, and need to be a self-starter – as some days will require them to work alone.
Discretion is required, along with 60 hour work weeks, positive, no drama attitude, and some prior maintenance or ranch experience.
