Lost Creek Ranch
Seeking seasonal ranch hand to support management of 300 acre high-fence property located near Ft Worth, Texas. Ranch is commercially managed as an exotic hunting property with lodge, gun range, and other activities (see website for more details).
Seeking highly motivated, self-starter, who can complete tasks and projects without supervision in a timely and orderly manner. Duties may include, but not limited to: fence repair, maintaining feed program, road maintenance, vehicle and equipment operation and maintenance, landscaping, basic lodge maintenance, skinning/quartering animals, and small construction projects.
The Ranch hand should have, at the very least, a basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and other construction-related skills, including basic welding and the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. The position will also require experience with small engine repair/maintenance and associated mechanical knowledge along with experience in operating farm machinery (skid steer, tractor, dozer). Any applicant should have significant experience working with a wide range of maintenance tools (i.e. power tools) as well as best safety practices when working with tools. Any additional skill sets related to construction, mechanics, or heavy machinery operation will be valuable to the position.
Applicant must be self-insured and will be required to sign an employment contract form, which can be provided upon request.
Additional preferred skills: hunting background, knowledge of exotic game, experience in dressing out animals.
Job duration: starting as early as middle of next month (May) for about 3-4 months.
