Cooking Requirements
- We serve quality, fresh food. Not gourmet.
- Cook meals, serve, and clean up after hunters and staff during hunting season.
- We serve a large breakfast, light lunch, appetizer, dinner and dessert each day.
- The day begins with coffee and snacks for the hunters to have before going out early. Coffee area needs to be ready to go usually around 5:30 am. The cook can rest until breakfast needs to get started which is around 8:00 am.
- Cook according to written meal plan. Each day’s breakfast, lunch, appetizer, dinner, and dessert will be written out. All menus and recipes will be kept in a binder for reference.
- There will be a designated refrigerator that will be for the fresh food for that weeks’ hunt.
- Must know how to use time wisely to meal prep so that meats, produce, casseroles, breads, sides, and desserts are ready to serve.
- Must plan ahead for the next day’s meals. You must keep in mind what needs to be thawed, marinated, brined, baked, etc.
- Please use resources wisely.
- Please be prepared to serve in the style that is requested.
- Please keep meal prep areas as clean as possible. Clean as you go.
Cleaning Requirements
The Hunters House where all paying hunters lodge must be cleaned on Sunday at the end of each hunt. Changing and washing bed linens, all towels, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen and game room. All floors must be swept, mopped, etc. Rooms vacuumed. Take out all trash, restock waters, coffee, snacks, etc.
We sell hospitality. We want each hunter to really enjoy being at L J Blessings Ranch and for them to feel cared for!
