The Ranch Steward works in a team environment and reports directly to the Ranch Manager. The Ranch Steward is responsible for the day to day operations, maintenance and care of the ranch’s agricultural operations and the integration with natural resource and recreational values of the property.
Specifically, the ranch steward shall be responsible for the following areas
:
Administration:
• communicating with and taking direction from the general manager;
• maintaining an up to date ranch website calendar with all planned ranch related activities and visitors;
• complying with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations;
• cooperating with neighbors and other citizens within the community in regards to the best interests of the owners;
• completing other projects as requested or necessary to achieve ranch goals.
Natural Resources:
• irrigating, cultivating, spraying ,maintaining, and monitoring the ranch’s food plots;
• supporting a fall hunting schedule that allows for whitetail deer management, while also keeping accurate harvest records of all game species harvested by the owner, their guests and the public;
• supporting habitat restoration activities on the ranch.
• reporting all noxious weed infestations to the general manager, and taking control measures as directed;
• completing other projects as requested or necessary to achieve ranch goals.
Agriculture:
• completing necessary planning and labor to prepare seedbed, plant, irrigate, and harvest of crops;
• managing livestock herds on the ranch, including moving, winter-feeding, vet care, handling, calving, branding;
• maintaining all livestock handling equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
• completing other projects as requested or necessary to achieve ranch goals.
Infrastructure:
• providing general maintenance and clean-up of the ranch;
• maintaining machinery, tools, and equipment (i.e. maintenance and repair, cleaning the equipment and facilities, properly storing, and disposing of fuel and hazardous materials)
• maintaining security for the ranch;
• constructing, repairing, and removing fence;
• removing and properly disposing of trash and other debris;
• completing other projects as requested or necessary to achieve owners goals
