The ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience in the diagnostics and repair of all types of vehicles and equipment including light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles as well as agriculture and construction equipment; will also possess experience working in an agricultural environment, have welding and fabrication experience, and be well versed with the use of computer based systems for data entry and vehicle/equipment diagnostics; and will demonstrate experience planning, scheduling, and performing work at a highly productive level with little direct supervision.
The ideal candidate will also hold a class A driver’s; and license and have certifications pertaining to the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment is desirable.
Performs maintenance and repair and overhauls agricultural equipment such as tractors, harvesting equipment, seeders, irrigation movers; diesel well pump engines; heavy and light trucks; construction equipment; automobiles and similar equipment. Creates a record of maintenance and repair for each vehicle and piece of equipment. Operates a variety of hand, power and shop tools; and performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Special Requirements: Two or more years of journey-level experience in the maintenance and repair of vehicles, construction or agricultural equipment. Successful completion of appropriate trade school or technical course work in diesel or gasoline-powered mechanics may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
A valid Nevada commercial driver’s license, Class A and appropriate endorsements, or the ability to obtain one within six months of date of hire, and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s Vehicle Insurance Policy.
