Ranch Manager position for a 460-acre non-hunting exotic ranch in Paluxy, Texas: we are looking for a ranch manager to partner with us in successfully running a non-hunting exotic ranch and growing the two main business aspects of the ranch: exotic livestock breeding and hay production. The ranch is both a business operation and the second home for the owner, and a gathering place for many family and friends.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Working with owners to identify goals, and developing and implementing plans for both:
- Exotic livestock breeding operation
- Coastal hay production operation
- Delivering outstanding operational performance on the ranch with a focus on animal well-being, safety, and care as a priority
- Overseeing routine repairs and maintenance of the main house and guest cabins
- Operating and maintaining/overseeing repair of all ranch equipment
- Representing the business, self, and the Ranch reputation with integrity, at all times
- Managing and providing direction to the ranch hand team (usually 2 part-time ranch hands)
- Contributing to the overall management of the Ranch
- Being a solution provider and make no excuses leader
- Ensuring a safe working environment for all ranch employees
- Proactively identifying risk and discussing with Owner, and then creating and implementing mitigation strategies
- Other tasks as assigned by the Owner
Qualifications include but not limited to:
- Must be able to pass background check
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Valid Driver’s license or eligible for driver license in Texas
- Must be able to work independently and resourcefully and as a team leader for part-time ranch hands
- Prior experience with livestock desired; prior experience with exotic livestock a plus
- Prior experience with small equipment (tractor, skid-steer, mower, trailers, weed-eater, etc.) is a plus but is not required

Salary:
The highly competitive compensation for this position is dependent on the experience, knowledge, and skill set of the prospective employee. The ranch manager’s compensation package is calculated to make sure the ranch manager shares financially in the ranch’s success. The compensation package includes bonus percentages of exotic livestock and hay sales for the ranch manager, as well as additional incentives above the available bonus for exceptional production in a given year.
