We are seeking a stellar professional (or couple) to work with us and run our beautiful family ranch in Buffalo, Wyoming. Our 3,200 acre ranch is located in the foothills of the Bighorn mountains and is a special place where we live, run cattle, nurture wildlife, and enjoy nature. The ideal professional is super smart with substantial hands-on experience, well educated, willing to work hard, and, of course, humble and kind.

Primary responsibilities include:

Cattle: Build and operate all facets of our cattle business from buying and selling, to calving, grazing, and maintaining optimum health. Direct experience with genetics is a plus.
Pastures: Farm our irrigated pastures, including haying, cover crops, fertilizing, and proper soil maintenance. Improve our dry lands to encourage growth of beneficial plants while removing unwanted and noxious weeds. Increasingly utilize regenerative methods.
Irrigation: Utilize our water rights efficiently and effectively to irrigate our pastures. Monitor water usage and improve irrigation approaches and systems.
Wildlife: We view wildlife as an important part of our ranch ecosystem; thus, support and develop habitat for all types of wildlife, including deer, elk, fish, fowl, grouse, pronghorn, raptors, and many others.
Fencing: Maintain, improve, and replace fencing throughout the property.
Structures: We have quite a few structures that require careful and thoughtful maintenance, including several houses, multiple shops, working barns, and an equestrian facility.
Landscaping: Maintain and improve landscaping at all residential homes and corresponding entrances, including lawns, trees, plants, and roads.
Vehicles: Maintain all ranch vehicles, including heavy equipment, trucks, UTVs, and ATVs.
Security: Maintain and improve ranch security systems and respectfully enforce our property rights.
Guests: We occasionally host friends, family, clients, and colleagues on our ranch, and need support to provide genuine Wyoming hospitality.
Projects: Undertake special projects that arise from time to time.

This position runs the spectrum from strategic management to basic hands-on work. No type of work is above or below our successful ranch professional. All work, from the smallest, mundane detail to large strategic issues, must be addressed with intelligence, creativity, and authentic enthusiasm. There are always a gazillion things that need to be worked on here on our ranch, thereby requiring a proactive approach and an ability to effectively prioritize. It is critical that you take pride in your work and receive true enjoyment from seeing hard work result in improvements for all facets of our ranch.
