The Hill Top Ranch is located on approximately 1,000+ acres in Blanco, Texas. The owners seek to find a ranch manager to work directly with them in management of all aspects of the property. The ideal candidate is a hardworking self-starter with strong communication skills and experience managing large tracts of land.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Complete oversight of the ranch, properly maintaining improvements, houses, pastures, equipment, and horses
- Act as primary point of contact for owners and provide regular updates on all activity on the ranch.
- Responsible for maintaining houses, improvements, swimming pool, roads, gates and fencing and keeping them in working order.
- Schedule and manage contractors/vendors when needed.
- Operate and maintain equipment including oil changes and basic maintenance needed to keep equipment in working order.
- Seasonal maintenance includes cutting grass, clearing cedar and brush, and ensuring the houses, wells, and equipment are properly maintained and prepared during winter months.
- Monitor and maintain deer feeders and deer stands during hunting season.
- Care and maintenance of owners’ personal pet(s) when owner is traveling.
- Care of all owner’s livestock.
- Provide full time security of all property on the ranch.
- Upgrade all areas of the ranch.
Qualifications:
- Ranch management and general ranch work experience required.
- Must be trustworthy, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Must be proactive in solving problems and bringing issues/concerns to owners’ attention.
- Must provide a work history with personal and employer references including valid phone numbers.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
- Must be professional and hard working.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions and able to lift/move heavy objects when needed.
- Must be able to safely and responsibly operate ranch equipment.
- Must live on property.
- Additional duties include but are not limited to, brush clearing, maintenance of houses on property, maintain fences, all repairs, light plumbing and electrical repairs, cutting grass operation of all ranch equipment, livestock experience, etc.
