Ranch Manager Role:
A family in Wimberly, TX is seeking a full-time meticulous and stellar Ranch Manager/Groundskeeper to spearhead all operations and upkeep of their 500+ acre property. The position reports directly to the Chief of Staff and the candidate is responsible for managing the overall operation of the ranch. There are, however, several other ranch properties that will require your attention/directing from time to time in the future. There will be daily/weekly/monthly task lists to report and follow. The candidate will work independently, managing a small team (2-3 ranch assistants), be a self-starter and can multitask to oversee a myriad of responsibilities and an ever-changing list of priorities. There will be no direct contact with owners to start, all communication will be directly between the Ranch Manager and the Chief of Staff.
Basic Job Requirements/Responsibilities:
- 3-5+years of previous ranch management experience required.
- Proficiency in operating ranch equipment required.
- Manage/feed Livestock: 2 goats, chickens, several ranch cats. (Planning to add cattle and horses to the ranch in the near future, experience in handing cattle/ horses is desired)
- Maintain Property & Ranch Improvement Projects: Inspect ranch structures such as buildings, fences, troughs, or roads, and maintain or make repairs. Service and maintain tractors, mowers, rangers, skid steer, farm equipment, and other power equipment. Aid in fence work repair, mowing, weed eating, tree trimming, road repair, weed spraying, pasture aerating, tree cutting and spraying, painting, trough/waterline repair, and light home repairs.
- Operate Machinery efficiently and safely: Tractors (be able to hook-up/detach implements), skid steer, chain saw, blower, use mower, weed eater and haul/tow with trucks.
- Keep all lawns and landscape maintained appropriately and perform necessary replacement of dead landscape materials.
- Transport items/packages that arrive to the main house.
- Follow a daily/monthly checklist and report to the Chief of Staff with end of the week updates.
- Vehicle maintenance: Make sure all vehicles have up-to-date registration/stickers/insurance cards (preferably placed somewhere for easy access inside the vehicle)
- Oversee additional ranch assistants
- Additional responsibilities as needed and per request
Compensation:
- Salary DOE $55k-$60k+
- 10 PTO days (vacation+ sick)
