Focus Ranch
Description: Focus Ranch is located 50 miles west of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and 30 miles east of Baggs, Wyoming. Half the ranch is in Wyoming and the other half in Colorado. The Little Snake River runs for about 2 miles through the ranch. We are primarily a working cattle ranch. We have been a guest ranch since the late 1930’s and for years members of the Dude Ranch Association and currently an associate member as we no longer take guests. We hire a staff of about 7.
Irrigator: We flood irrigate about 900 acres of grass land and put up a small amount of hay. Most of the irrigated land will be grazed by approximately 1100 head of yearling cattle early in the season and then again in late July and August, when we ship the majority of them. A small number will be shipped later and our small herd of beef cows will remain. The irrigator will be responsible for flood irrigating the different lands in a pasture by moving and setting canvas dams. The water to irrigate with comes from a ranch reservoir and the Little Snake River. A typical irrigation season begins in May and ends in late July/early August. An ATV is available to move dams and check on sets.
Benefits: We provide housing, home-cooked meals, WiFi connection, laundry services and more. The pay depends on experience and includes a monthly salary and a bonus at the end of the season. Days off: 1.5/week.
The irrigation season is from May 1st until about August 1st but we are flexible with dates if an employee has other skills and can do other ranch jobs. If interested and feel this might be a good fit for you, we would love to hear from you to discuss the opportunity further.

All employees of Focus Ranch must be current on their Covid vaccines and booster by the start date. Proof of vaccination will be required.
