About Us
Ranchlands is an agricultural-based business that specializes in the management of large-scale ranches. We partner with conservation-minded owners to implement ambitious conservation programs that co-exist alongside our own cattle operations. In addition to our diversified cattle business, we run a series of complementary land-based businesses including hospitality, hunting and fishing, and ecotourism.
The Role
Ranchlands is seeking six-month ranch interns to work on large-scale working ranches. You will be working alongside our Apprentices, learning what it takes to run a large cattle operation. The internship will provide hands-on experience in all operations, from fencing and fixing pipe lines to moving cattle and participating in grazing planning.
Responsibilities
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Cattle health checks
- Graze planning
- Checking and fixing fence
- Vehicle maintenance
- Installing, monitoring, and repairing water infrastructure and utilization
- Moving cattle via horseback or dirt bike
Each property is unique, and daily operations vary accordingly.
The ranches we operate are located across the West. Placement will depend on suitability, personality, experience, and interest.
Shared accommodations, utilities, and a monthly stipend are provided.
