Stolen Saddle Ranch
Stolen Saddle Ranch is 11,441 acre ranch located in Arcadia, FL. The ranch is primarily used for recreational hunting, including white-tailed deer, turkey, waterfowl, dove, quail, hog and alligator.
The position is a full-time salaried employee with benefits. The employee must be willing to work long hours and nights and weekends during hunting season. Applicant must have a strong work ethic, be motivated, show initiative, keep a positive attitude and be willing to learn. Ideal applicant will have previous experience working on hunting properties, be proficient operating and maintaining tractors and associated implements and have good people skills.
Job Duties will include:
- Filling and maintaining feeders
- Installing deer stands and duck blinds
- Invasive/Exotic species control using chemical and mechanical treatments
- Road maintenance and repair
- Assist with various wildlife surveys, including aerial surveys, camera surveys, whistle counts, covey call surveys, spotlight surveys
- Assist with prescribed burning planning and implementation
- Nest predator trapping with box and leghold traps
- Feeding established routes for quail
- Blocking woods for quail hunting
- Fence building and repair
- Cleaning and processing harvested game from the property
- Data collection from harvested game
- Food plot planting and establishment
- Brush control
- Equipment and vehicle maintenance and repair
- Facilities maintenance and repair
- Guide deer, turkey and waterfowl hunts
Qualifications:
- Must be proficient operating farm tractors and associated implements
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Experience guiding hunters
- Valid driver’s license
- Good people skills
- Must be in good physical condition and be willing to work outside in hot/humid conditions
- Previous experience working on ranches or hunting plantations
Salary: $35,000 – $48,000 w/ full health benefits and retirement
