Missoula Ranch looking for someone to join our team. We are looking for someone who enjoys the outdoors, is a team player, able to follow directions & take initiative. Handy, capable, hardworking, knows about the business end of a shovel, paint brush, pair of plyers or lawn mower.
We have a small barn yard with critters to feed and take care of, pens to clean, lawns to mow, gardens to weed, fences to mend and paint, things to fix, organize and clean up. Slash piles to make and burn, gates to re-hang and the list goes on…in the winter there is always snow to move and vehicle maintenance & other jobs to get us ready for spring and summer.
We’re a small hard-working team where a good attitude, skills, knowledge, gumption, being able to see what needs to be done, getting it done, good communication skills and hard work will make all the difference. This is a great place to work, and to come to work…minutes from town but feel like you’re a million miles away.
Hours:
This is a full-time year-round position. Weekends are a must & holidays and occasional last minute schedule changes can happen, so you need to be flexible. We too are flexible and know that people have lives & families so we all work together to make sure the owners needs are met and accommodating where we can.
Physical Demands:
The ranch hand is required to do heavy work. The DOT defines “Heavy Work” as lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Examples of this requirement would include activities surrounding fencing, the lifting, pushing and pulling of treated posts, ties, wire reels, and tasks related to haying. The candidate should have a working knowledge and ability of using tractors and skid steers.
