The Ranch Hand will be the caregiver for all livestock and pets on the various ranches and headquarters. The Ranch Hand will be assisting and tending livestock; repairing and cleaning fences, ranch buildings, landscaping; performing yard and property maintenance; equipment maintenance; and will maintain all properties free from debris and trash.
The Ranch Hand will monitor grazing land to ensure livestock are properly fed and watered at all times throughout the year. Ranch Hand will be assisting and tending livestock; repairing and cleaning fences, ranch buildings, painting, irrigation systems, landscaping; tree trimming, performing yard and property maintenance; equipment maintenance; and will maintain all properties free from debris and trash.
Tending livestock will require the following, to include, but not limited to; haltering, exercising, feeding, watering, transporting, birthing, tagging, tattooing, branding, shearing, roping, sorting, pasturing, herding, grooming, and doctoring the show steers, heifers and/or any livestock (cattle/goats/pigs/chickens, etc.) and pets on the ranches. Having raised healthy animals through this attentive care, Ranch Hands will also haul the livestock to market, shows or to other ranch locations and secondary locations.
Ranch Hands will be asked from time to time to travel and work at stock shows and prospect shows, mostly in Texas. Will operate heavy equipment such as dozers, backhoes, motor graders, farm tractors, hay equipment and skid steers. Communicates with the President or Vice President on ranching and farming activities. Must maintain daily records and logs on ranch operations and livestock. These logs must include livestock inventories with complete identification numbers per animal, birthing records, feed/supplies/vaccine inventories, maintenance records. Additionally, they will identify sick animals, birthing animals and report any concerns to management to determine proper treatment or contact a veterinarian in an emergency. Coordinate and assist with vehicle/equipment license, registration, and maintenance (oil changes, tire change out, washing). Direct and oversee the Safety, Security and potential hazards for all ranch locations. May engage in other duties as assigned or instructed. If ranch housing is offered upon initial employment, it is considered a benefit and not an independent rental and employees must be in good standing on the housing agreement for continued employment and vice versa.
