Boomer Ranch
Ranch Hand Position: Western Montana family ranch is looking for a full-time, Long-Term ranch hand with strong work ethic.
Responsibilities include:
Calving, feeding of small square and round bales, livestock handling/Cattle knowledge, moving cattle with ATV, branding, flood irrigation, fence fixing and new fence building, machine repair/maintenance, haying, running haying equipment. Must be able to drive a manual. Must not be scared to pick rock, pile brush, dig a ditch, clean ditch. Some jobs may seem useless but we as owners take great pride in our place. Must take job seriously. Must take pride in work, job, and self.
We expect someone to be able to work by self and finish job in a timely manner the first time. Must be able to learn quickly. Must be honest and up-front person. Have good communication skills. Arrive on time as scheduled with a good attitude and ready to give a full day’s work. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change dependent upon ranch operational needs.
Wages DOE. Current references and resume a must. Must have a current driver’s license and can pass a back ground check. There is a 2 bedroom/2bath housing with wood heat available. Maintain a clean and orderly living space inside and out provided by the Ranch. Ranch truck to drive to and from to work. Pets are only permitted if approved by us first.
We run around 200 head of mother black angus cows. We are a family-owned ranch. Not a cowboy or manger position.
