The position will include assisting in the management of the cattle, including but not limited to daily moves, doctoring, sorting, tagging, maintaining water and fence lines, and monitoring pasture/grass condition. Additionally the hand will assist in other operations on the ranch focused on pasture development, wildlife habitat, and preparations for hunting season(s). Cattle experience is preferred.
Temporary housing will be provided; we will be building permanent housing but it is at least a year out.
We are located in NW Starr County, about 40 miles north of the Texas/Mexico border and 3 hours south of San Antonio.
The ranch is in its early stages but this could be a long term position for the right individual. We are a 4,000 acre hunting ranch in development that is also developing a cattle herd. We are bringing in about 700+ head for custom grazing and will be using these cattle to improve our pastures as we build our own herd. We are developing a low stress, high density program to help us develop our cattle and other livestock and need to make sure all hands are a good fit.
