Would you like the opportunity to work/live in one of the most beautiful areas of the country, surrounded by thousands of acres of wilderness, with a live trout stream, hiking trails, waterfalls and other incredible outdoor recreation opportunities, all right outside of your front door? We have an immediate need for a strong, proficient, stable person (or couple!) with a varied skill set, to assist us with property maintenance and care on our 10 acres, in Western NC/Northeast GA, in exchange for housing, with all utilities paid, and a small monthly stipend (TBD). In addition to assisting with our property upkeep, we have also started a grading/forestry/contractor business and need a person to assist with those offsite jobs – an hourly wage or "per job" wage will be paid for all of those contracts; excellent opportunity to make a decent living in a beautiful place! If a couple, we are not opposed to one party having outside income and assisting us on a part time basis (with the other person being full time)
Operation of (or assisting with site prep around) heavy equipment, chainsaws, rigging, basic mechanical skills desired. Basic carpentry, basic electrical/plumbing, gardening/landscape/hardscape skills a plus. The most important attribute is a can-do attitude, willingness to learn, and do whatever is necessary to assist on property, from running errands and trash runs, to assisting in the repair (possible building) of structures, tree removal, lawn care, gutter cleaning, and other tasks, as well as assisting with the ground work on all grading/construction contract job sites.
Must like animals (dogs/cats), as we have them on property and may need occasional assistance with pet care, and MUST be comfortable with remote living – we are 40 minutes, one way, to the closest town! Please – NO PETS (indoor cat may be considered), no kids (home schooled kids considered), and NO DRAMA!
