Would you like the opportunity to work/live in one of the most beautiful areas of the country, surrounded by thousands of acres of wilderness, with a live trout stream, hiking trails, waterfalls and other incredible outdoor recreation opportunities, all right outside of your front door? We are looking for a strong, proficient, stable person (or couple) with a varied skill set, to assist us with property maintenance and caretaking, as well as assisting with our start-up wilderness retreat center on 10 acres, in Western NC/Northeast GA, in exchange for housing, with all utilities paid, and a small monthly stipend.
Skills desired include some basic carpentry, basic electrical/plumbing, and gardening/landscape/hardscape work. Operation of (or assisting with site prep around) heavy equipment, mechanical skills, woodworking/furniture making, and greenhouse knowledge all a plus, but not necessary – more important than anything is a can-do attitude, willingness to learn, and do whatever is necessary to assist on property, from running errands and trash runs, to assisting in the building of structures, tree removal and other tasks.
Must like animals (dogs/cats), as we have them on property and may need occasional assistance with pet care, and MUST be comfortable with remote living – we are 40 minutes, one way, to the closest town! No pets (indoor cats considered), not ideal for children (empty nesters welcome), and NO DRAMA!
