Winlotte Farm is small private horse farm looking for a hard working individual who can manage the day to day residential and agricultural duties including but not limited to those listed below.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Routine work schedule will be, on average, an 8 hour day, 5 days per week, days off will be mutually agreed upon by both parties.
  • Feeding horses, cleaning stalls and waterers in stalls and pastures. Keeping barn clean and tidy. Turnout and rotation of horses depending on weather. Stack hay and shavings, unload grain. Other animals care and feeding.
  • Grounds maintenance and improvements, including mowing/edging lawns, fertilizing, aerating, leaf collection, pruning, planting of landscaping, organic garden, shrubs and trees, fence installation and repair. Maintenance of residential irrigation (sprinkler/drip) systems and landscaping. Watering and/or dragging arenas when needed.
  • Irrigation of pastures during irrigation season, including preparation and maintenance of ditches, gates and culverts. Cleaning, burning, repairing and improving ditches and gates during the off-season.
  • Pasture maintenance, seeding, dragging, fertilizing. Weed control (may include spraying of herbicides and/or pre-emergent).
  • Rodent and insect control, voles, mice, skunks, wasps, hornets etc . . .

Required Skills and Attitude

  • Hard working self starter, organized and detail focused.
  • Experience with horses, barn and residential management.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and to start and complete tasks and duties.
  • Effective and efficient time management and communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

This position will begin as an hourly paid full-time position. No medical or retirement benefits are currently offered. Bi-annual performance reviews will be conducted. Annual performance bonuses are considered but not guaranteed.
