My name is Alex, I'm 24 and I'm looking to get out of the city back onto a ranch.
My ideal position would be a caretaker position within 2-3 hours of Denver, but am open to other options.
I grew up on a horse farm in South Carolina, did a lot of handyman/construction work there as well as cattle, pork, and chicken farming, haying and such. So I know my way around a barn and a horse. I know flood irrigation and water movement. I know how to harness and hitch up a team to feed.
I can ride (rope okay), fix and build fence, irrigate, feed, landscape, etc. I’m a really good mechanic and an exceptional handyman/carpenter. Proficient equipment operator.
Ranching has been my favorite line of work I’ve ever done, and since I moved to Denver in the fall of 2019, I have only been confirmed in my desire to be on the ranch, close to the land, and close to animals.
I have an old German Shepherd who is very friendly and quiet, and likes to do a lot of laying around. I’m a great team player, but love working alone. I can follow direction and take initiative to get what needs done done.
