Anne A.
I am looking to obtain a position riding and or assistant training. A position that will afford me a chance to further my education riding and training. I am also very interested in cattle work on horseback. A few positions I believe I would possibly fit well are wrangler, or a place that needs horses restarted and behavior issues solved. A ranch that is looking to exercise, interested in performance barns that show reined cow horses and or cutting. I also have an interest in foal handling, halter training, colt starting and foundation work. Could be a caretaker if riding and or training is involved.
A bit about me:
- I have worked the past 4 months as a wrangler, trainer and a working cattle ranch and loved it.
- 20 years riding
- 12 years managing a high-end performance barn with a barefoot rehab program. Rehab whole horse body and mind.
- 13 years studying horsemanship and behavior from many sources especially horses
- 10 years training and teaching horsemanship and behavior part time. Solving behavior problems. Foundation work in saddle and on ground.
- 10 years studying hoof pathology, biomechanics, lameness and laminitis. Barefoot trimming methods.
- 8 years owning successful part time barefoot rehabilitation and trimming business
Extremely hard worker, reliable and loyal. Great attention to detail, professional, multitasking, positive attitude, patience, resourceful, flexible, versatile, and work well as a team or alone. Reflective, honest, Great sense of humor and love to laugh. I find a place that fits what I need, and we work well together. I commit, go all in and stay a long time.
I am not looking for a stall cleaner, management or maintenance position only. I would like riding and or training to be primary. Or at least a balance of the two because I do have skills and like physical work.
My hobbies are mountain sports and exploring in my 4×4. I have interest in getting into team penning and some roping.
I have a 4×4 and a 20ft travel trailer I live in with my 9 yr old mainly outdoor barn cat. I can stay in my trailer in warmer climates and so can he but prefer if he has freedom. You will rarely see him, and he is an exceptional hunter, so he pays his way. Or I would need housing especially if the location is freezing.
I have a good ranch saddle that fits most horses well. See pic.
I am available asap and will relocate most anywhere near or in the mountains if permanent. If it is a seasonal or temporary position, I am more flexible where I go. Thank you for reading.
