Ève L.
I’m a 38-year-old wildlife biologist from the Northwest Territories in northern Canada, currently on a one-year deferred leave. My expertise lies in wildlife capture using net gunning and chemical immobilization techniques, various wildlife survey methods, and implementing big game management plans. I primarily work with Mountain and Boreal Caribou, Dall’s Sheep, Wood Bison, moose, Grey Wolves, and black bears.
During my time off, I want to combine travelling, genuine local experiences, and wildlife/livestock work. I’m keen on spending time at a ranch for a few weeks to a few months, depending on the opportunity. While not mandatory, I hope to find an opportunity that includes the following elements:
- Horseback Riding: I’m experienced in riding English saddle/jumping style and would like to learn other techniques.
- Hunting/Outfitting: I’m a beginner hunter eager to develop my skills.
- Livestock Work: I would like to practice handling techniques I can apply later on Wood Bison and Dall’s Sheep.
- Sharing my Expertise: While this is not my top priority, I’m open to sharing my professional knowledge if it aligns with your business’s needs.
I’m a hard worker, a positive thinker, a quick learner, and easy to get along with. I’m physically fit and strong for my size (female, 5’1″, comfortable lifting up to 80 lbs). I’m keen to live new experiences and am open to various opportunities. While not necessary, I would love to bring my 9-year-old Samoyed dog with me. He is well-behaved and friendly with other dogs and people. He has grown up with cats but hasn’t been introduced to larger animals, although I don’t foresee any issues.
I’m available from mid-November onwards and am open to staying as long as necessary, depending on the opportunity. I have my own car for transportation but will need accommodation.
