Good day my name is Braden R., I am 24yrs old and I’m looking for ranch work. I am currently in the US Marine Corps Reserve unit. Currently seeking employment for a working cattle ranch or working strictly with horses. I would say i have about 2.53yrs of working on a ranch. I’m still learning every day on what it takes to operate a ranch but for the time I’ve been working ranches I’d say i gained a lot of knowledge that i have gathered over these years. I’m looking to further expand my knowledge on what it takes to work/ run in the cattle/ horse industry. Looking to work in MT.

About myself –

I’ve been in the Marines for 4yrs my MOS is 0811 (artillery) I have 2yrs left for my reserve contract. I’m currently working on a ranch in Victor ID the reason I’m leaving is because I’d like to move back to MT so I can be closer to my lady who is in Missoula MT and also be closer to my military base which is in Yakima WA. I’m a very hard worker and understand what working on a ranch means. It’s not just work for me it’s a way of life it’s something to be proud of it’s something that makes me appreciate everything i have in this life. I enjoy working on horseback and doing ground work in the round pen with horses. I love to build bounds with the horse I use. I enjoy figuring out their personalities and reading their body language. I’m a man of my word a person who values traditions and the integrity of others. I’m not looking for a boss who doesn’t care about their employees, I’m looking for someone I can learn from someone I can sit down with and have a cup of coffee with and pick their mind so I can be the best possible hand. I enjoy learning new things and figuring out how things operate. I currently don’t have a horse but down the road that’s something I’d very much want to purchase. Im not the best with technology so if you’d like to learn more about me I’d like to talk face to face so you can get a better sense of the man I am.

My experience –

I’ve worked on 3 different ranches over the years and I can say I’ve learned a lot from each one of them. I’ve met some great people who I very much look up to.

  • running equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, tractors, ATVs, and trucks
  • irrigation such as K lines, wheel line, and flood irrigation
  • working on horseback to push cattle
  • haying operation i have ran a round baler, square baler and a hay hyker
  • doctoring calves, tagging calves
  • fixed fences, built corrals, pounded T post
  • Worked head chutes, and have done corral work on foot and on horse

I am looking to work primarily on horseback or working strictly on training horses or starting colts. I’m not looking for a dude/ guest ranch! Im very hard working I will ask questions if I don’t know something and I’ll always do my absolute best to get the job at hand complete. I’ll work in any condition and will always have a smile on my face when doing so. I’m very interested in learning more about how to run a ranch and how to work more effectively with horses and how to properly take care of them. I’d be very interested in learning how to shoe horses so I can be more of an asset to the ranch. I’m very interested in learning how to properly throw a rope off a saddle. I’m honestly trying to be the best hand a person can ask for I just need someone who is willing and able to put in the time to help and I promise I’ll stop at nothing til your expectations are met.
