My name is Wesley . I am from Manvel, TX, currently a college student about to graduate in the fall. I’m posting message looking for a possible summer ranching job. I want to continue to learn and grow my skills within the ranching community.
This past summer, I worked at a ranch farm and feed operation in Colorado. The job entailed working with cattle and doing any job that needed to be done. I was at the bottom of the totem pole, so some of the jobs I did were cleaning water troughs and the feed bunks, running cattle in the alley to the squeeze chute to brand them, doctoring them, giving them their ear tags, and helping load them in the trailer to take to market.
In the past summers, I worked as a ranch hand in Sealy, TX. The ranch produced bucking bulls for rodeos. Some tasks I worked on were feeding the bulls, giving them water, and helping get the bulls ready for the upcoming rodeos.
I want to continue to improve my ranching skills, which include working on horseback to improve my riding and roping skills. I also want to learn how to wean calves and doctor cattle and horses and learn more from other hands that are also working the ranch.
