Hello, my name is Willow. I am a single 23 year old. I am seeking a ranch hand position as my first step into the ranching industry. I am a reliable person with a positive attitude, and I’m enthusiastic to learn everything that I can about ranching.
I am looking to relocate and I can start as soon as w/c 7th October 2024. Currently located in Florida.
While my background is primarily in operations management and logistics, I am eager to transition into ranching and believe my skills and dedication make me a strong candidate for this role.
Growing up in an English farmhouse, I have hands-on experience with a variety of animals, including rabbits, chickens, ducks, dogs, and fish – my mother also keeps bees on the property. I have been exposed to small animal care from a young age, and this upbringing has instilled in me a deep appreciation for an outdoors life and a practical understanding of small animals.
My professional experience has equipped me with a solid foundation in managing complex operations, problem-solving, and adhering to high standards of safety and efficiency. For instance, in my role as a Warehouse Operations Manager at Morrisons PLC, I directed a team of over 200 staff members, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with safety protocols. This experience has honed my organizational skills and my ability to thrive in dynamic environments—qualities that I am confident will translate well to the farming/ranching industry.
Although I do not yet have direct ranching experience or horseback riding skills, I am highly motivated and eager to learn. My recent role as a Business Improvement Specialist involved managing projects and leading initiatives that required adaptability and a quick learning curve. I am committed to gaining the necessary skills for this role, including horseback riding, and am prepared to undertake any training required.
In addition to my professional background, my time as an Au Pair and in various customer-facing roles has developed my ability to manage tasks efficiently and work collaboratively with diverse teams. My strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to embrace new challenges make me well-suited for the hands-on nature of ranch work.
I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to your ranch and grow within the ranching field. I am flexible regarding work schedules and am fully prepared for the physical demands and varied tasks associated with the position. I am also willing to relocate and can start as soon as w/c 7th October.
I have an unencumbered, full UK manual driving license and a clean record. My hobbies include long walks in nature, hiking, running or CrossFit-style workouts, visiting lakes, meeting new people, and reading. I don’t smoke or vape.
