Position Wanted: Regenerative Ranch Management opportunity
Would you like to grow more forage and make more money? Do you wish your operation had another income stream altogether? If so, please keep reading.
I grew up in a ranching family in the Panhandle of Texas. I’m experienced with all aspects of ranch life, and I have the gumption to get it done, whatever it is. Whether it’s working the ranch (branding, doctoring, sorting, training horses, etc.) or running the ranch (dealing with gov’t agencies, networking, direct-to-consumer marketing), I’ve done it, and I’m still doing it.
For the last two years, I have been running an operation in Central Oregon recovering degraded pasture with severe, non-selective grazing and extensive no-till cover cropping. With the input of some great mentors, I have developed a method that produces explosive forage regrowth, quiet cows, and some of the best beef my clients have ever tasted. Please visit my website for more information: sisterscattleco.com.
I’m particularly interested in the future of ranching. I think ranching will become relocalized, as transportation costs are getting out of hand and the multitude of coming carbon taxes will make feedlots and centralized packers less profitable. As it stands, the average rancher is getting closer and closer to insolvency while the price of beef in the grocery store goes up and up. This decoupling is happening now, and ranches that don’t adapt will soon be forced to sell out. The ranchers who succeed will be the ones who can build a direct-to-consumer, direct-to-business, or local co-op model as well as tap into the carbon inset market which is coming very soon.
If you’re looking for a ranch manager who can help move your operation forward, please give me a call today.
