My name is Ronan G., and I am a 20 year old Sophomore currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Arizona State University. I am looking for Summer work within the ranching industry and would like to learn about ranching on horseback, managing a ranch, and what all goes into maintaining one. My current availability is late June to August 15th, however for the right position I can begin in Mid May.
My main goal is to obtain experience within the industry and to do so through hands-on work. As a disclaimer I have not worked on a ranch before, the extent of my experience is from helping on a cattle farm with my father when I was in elementary school. However, I am a fast learner and a hard worker who is willing to put in the effort to get a job done. I do also have experience outdoors and working outside, this is not something that would worry or concern me. In fact, this is a primary reason I would want to do this work. Being outside and not cooped up inside is something important to me.
Would preferably like to work on a cattle ranch and I have no reservations about labor and physical work. Happy to do guide work as well if requested.
To note:
– Ideal States would be Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Texas, and Arizona. But willing to work in other states not listed.
– Willing to relocate if housing is provided
– CPR and First Aid Certified
– Minor experience with cattle
– Can use a chainsaw and power tools safely
– Basic Carpentry/Woodworking skills
– In good physical condition
– Fast learner and a hard worker
