Mature horsewoman seeks caretaker/manager position for small ranch or horse barn in the Southwest. Experienced in horse care, facility and equipment maintenance, and small-scale irrigation.
I have management experience in horse barns and building maintenance, and some experience with cattle and goats. With my solid mechanical skills I am competent using power tools and can operate tractors, skid-steers, forklifts, and do light welding. I am quiet and reliable,a self-starter, and would like to improve my rudimentary Spanish. Having done vegetable production in college and my own gardens over the years, I can plan ahead and track the next season’s goals. I am an avid trail rider, enjoy learning new skills and prefer working outdoors. I have been a barn manager in New Mexico and Texas, and a ranch hand/wrangler in Washington and Colorado.
I will be available fall 2020, and would need housing, horse board, and a modest salary. I don’t smoke anything. Currently working in the Great Northwet (not a typo), and I’m heading back to the land of sunshine.
