Michael M.
Retired medical professional, and wife considering offering CareGIVING, and Caretaking of your property in exchange for the Fee Simple position in the property. This is obviously not a typical offering. We both have experience in dealing with seniors (our parents) as caregivers. This includes medication help, meal preparation, food purchasing, companionship, paying bills, and transportation to doctors visits. We would also serve as caretakers of the property to include mending fences, light property maintenance, possibly some animal care, general household maintenance and mowing.
I am mid sixties, and a retired optometrist so have some medical background. We have always lived rurally and have experience with the rural lifestyle. My wife is mid fifties and is a great cook, and gardener. We have strong conservative values, are kind, honest, and good with people. Strong references are available to confirm our character.
Our goal is to be able to acquire quality rural real estate, preferably at least 40 acres, preferably with strong water rights or presence so we can distance ourselves from large population centers, and be able to pass our property on to our children so they will be able to be safe, and self-sufficient as our world grows more and more tumultuous. Preferred states are Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, and possibly others depending on other variables.
Why would you enter into an arrangement like this? You will probably be a couple, or a single person who has no children or relatives who share your love for your property and lifestyle (no one to pass the property on to), and you want to stay in your home as long as possible. Your condition should be such that you are starting to need help with the property, and perhaps with daily activities and you are worried or becoming frustrated.
Obviously, any arrangement like this would have to be a good fit for both parties. THE PROPERTY AND YOUR NEEDS WOULD HAVE TO BE ACCEPTABLE TO US, AND WE WOULD HAVE TO MEET YOUR NEEDS FOR CARE-GIVING, AND CARE-TAKING.
This is very much a "long shot" to put this out on a website such as this, but given the right circumstances it just might be a win-win opportunity.
