Amanda R.
Hi,
My name is Amanda and I currently work for the US Forest Service. I’ve had an amazing career with the agency that has taking me all over the country. While working with the agency I have Learned all kinds of skills from conservation management practices to wildland fire fighting.
I can operate dozers, drive heavy equipment and run chainsaws. I’ve also worked in timber management and wildlife as well as recreation and law-enforcement. Needless to say I’m pretty handy and have at least a basic knowledge of everything that might be useful to running a ranch or managing a property.
Prior to that season of my life I was a commercial helicopter pilot and served in the 82nd airborne Division at Fort Bragg North Carolina. That should tell you I’m not afraid of hard work. I work well solo or in team settings and I have extensive management experience working with loggers and logging crews throughout the country. But as amazing as my career has been I’m turning 40 this year and I’d like to follow my dream and work on a ranch.
Growing up I spent my summers working with conservation projects and manning fire towers for the USFS and helping on the local dude ranch. During my time on the ranch I learned all kinds of skills from working in the kitchen to building fence and wrangling horses. My passion soon became natural horsemanship. It’s always exciting to see a horse when they understand.
I have a lifetime of experience and I guarantee that I can make myself a critical member of your operation if given the opportunity.
