Howdy, I am looking for a permanent position on a smaller farm/ranch, especially interested in the western and south western mountain states.
I’m 26 years old, have farmed all my life, and am specifically looking for a long term position to grow with. I would like the position to involve me managing my day to day operations and continually advancing to run the farm for my employer. Specifically, a smaller operation where the owner is looking for a right hand man to manage things in their absence and to be an integral part in keeping things moving forward.
Mechanically inclined, experienced with newer JD equipment and guidance, semis, planters, combines, hay equipment, etc. Also experience with laying tile with an excavator and general dirt moving skills. I would not consider myself a cattleman, but I grew up around a small feedlot and will help out where need be. I do prefer to keep my focus on crops and equipment, however.
I also have some experience operating and repairing pivots. That being said, I still have much to learn and am always looking to enhance my skills and knowledge. I have some experience operating and repairing irrigation pivots, and am more than willing to learn more about them.
I am very honest and trustworthy, and do not tolerate drugs, lying, or stealing in any way. I work very well independently as well as with others, but am specifically looking for an independent position. I do like to feel my opinion is valued and taken seriously but also fully understand I am not the boss.
