Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Ranch Hand to join our team at our ranch located in Trinity, Texas. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent mechanical skills, and a genuine passion for ranch maintenance and animal care.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain various equipment, including tractors with batwing mowers, skid steers with mulchers, zero-turn mowers, and push mowers, ensuring the efficient upkeep of the ranch grounds.
- Perform mowing and landscaping tasks, including operating machinery to keep pastures, trails, and recreational areas well-maintained and visually appealing.
- Safely operate weed eaters to trim and maintain the appearance of designated areas, including around buildings, fences, and pathways.
- Responsible for filling deer feeders with appropriate feed, maintaining a regular schedule to support the local wildlife population.
- Ensure horses are well-fed and cared for, including feeding, watering, and basic grooming as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized barn environment by sweeping, mucking stalls, and removing waste to create a comfortable and safe living space for animals.
- Contribute to general maintenance tasks such as repairing fences, maintaining equipment, and performing minor repairs to structures as required.
- Feed and care for fish in designated ponds or water features on the ranch property, monitoring water quality and ensuring proper fish health.
- Assist with daily ranch operations, following safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of all animals, personnel, and visitors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating and maintaining agricultural equipment such as tractors, skid steers, and mowers.
- Knowledge of basic animal care and ranch management practices.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and demonstrate initiative.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform strenuous tasks.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
