Rock Creek Pack Station
Work in the Sierra Nevada and enjoy exploring Yosemite National Park, the John Muir Wilderness, Golden Trout Wilderness and Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park. We are looking for packers with experience and enjoy spending their summers in the wilderness. The ideal candidate has packed mules, has basic farrier skills and is kind to both fellow workers and the horses and mules.
We do hire a few workers without packing experience that are good around livestock and have wilderness experience.
We operate out of three fixed facilities in the Eastern Sierra. The territory we cover extends from south of Mt. Whitney to almost Lake Tahoe. Most of our staff sees a lot of backcountry. We offer a lot of outfitted trips for hikers and riders. The typical trip will have two packers and a cook. We provide dunnage, spot and all expense private trips. We are not a day ride and stable operation.
Our family has been at Rock Creek since 1947. We operate Rock Creek Pack Station, Mt. Whitney Pack Trains, Virginia Lakes Pack Outfit and Cottonwood Pack Station.
