Duties include but not limited to guiding guests on horseback rides, saddling, feeding, watering, cleaning tack, stalls, and tack rooms, scooping manure, fence repair, trail maintenance, firewood cutting, and any general maintenance and carpentry.
Come and enjoy the fall in the beautiful mountains of Montana! Our family-owned guest ranch/outfitting business is seeking a mature, outgoing wrangler for the 2020 season. Position from May August late November, room, and board, gratuities.
Requires a motivated individual in good physical health who has an excellent work ethic and great communication skills to happily interact with both guests and other staff. This is a combined position to provide instruction/guiding along with regular ranch wrangler duties: gathering, feeding, saddling, horses for rides; providing instruction and guiding trail rides; caring for sick and injured horses; maintaining tack, barn area, corrals, arena, fences, trails, and ranch grounds. May also assist with game retrieval during hunting seasons.

Outside Maintenance

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Job planning – daily, weekly, and monthly
- Assist with other areas as needed.
- Install new and repairs existing fence lines, gates, corrals, cattle guards, and other structures.
- Respond to accidents and trouble calls involving fence lines, water system, company vehicles, machinery, and mechanical equipment.
- Transport goods including equipment, livestock and other materials.
- May assist in wildlife program, serve as a guide for hunts, raise and/or care of animals and the facilities they inhabit.
Other Duties/Functions
- Maintain daily work lists
- Assist with security; report any suspicious and/or illegal activity
- Other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily and be willing to train and learn additional job skills. The requirements listed below are representatives of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, one (1) year of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job. Valid drivers license with a good driving record, CPR & First Aid certified preferred but not required.
