We are looking for an energetic, independent, full time marketing associate to join our team. We are a 5th generation agriculture family in Van Zandt County that represents strong Christian values and hard work. We have three main businesses and looking to add a fourth. We currently produce premium Bermuda hay in rounds and squares using the latest in equipment. Also we raise performance registered Brangus cattle using IVF and A.I. processes. Our third business is dirt work utilizing excavator, dozers, and dirt pans to dig lakes, build roads and pads, and clear timber. We are considering purchasing a mulcher to expand our capabilities along with the dirt services business. We are expanding our business through multiple divisions and looking to expand all of these the next few years.
This job will have the following duties:
- Marketing responsibilities for Hay Sales, Registered Brangus Cattle, Dirt Services, and possible Mulching businesses. This involves researching possible customers, drought areas of Texas, and gaining contracts. Also bringing our business up to speed in social media platforms, maintaining and expanding our presence. Weekly postings, research and tracking of sales, along with inputs and production totals. This is the main focus of this position.
- Accounting responsibilities will include invoicing and tracking of expenses using Quikbooks or Traction Ag Software. Tracking of inputs for each business such as labor, maintenance, fuel, chemicals, and fertilizer. This is a portion of the job but not meant to be a high percentage.
- Record Keeping responsibilities include tracking of inputs and expenses per field and then production results therefore giving us data on how to price results. Strategic methods of inputs and their results in achieving production goals per field. For the cattle side, it will include keeping records in CattleMax of recip cows and embryos and success rates of transfers. We are expanding cattle numbers and will involve our own donors along with some outside cattle. On the dirt services business, this involves fuel, labor, maintenance and repairs, and scheduling.
This is a dynamic, secure, Full-Time job opening with a well respected family in East Texas. We have land throughout Van Zandt County both owned and leased. It is a Christian Family environment with 3 generations being involved. We are looking for the correct person to fill this role that has an agriculture background, common sense, eager to learn attitude, with advanced skills in Marketing. Person needs the ability to talk to people in person, not shy, but professional and strategic in all aspects of work. We will provide online and other training for CattleMax, Traction or other accounting softwares, and other training as needed. Possible housing and bonus are available for this position.
