Lazy T Ranch is a family owned and operated horse and cattle ranch located within the basin of the Bighorn Mountains near Ten Sleep, Wyoming.

This position directly reports to the Ranch Manager
Position Summary
The Facilities & Building Maintenance Technician shall be responsible for repairs, maintenance, and upkeep for all ranch facilities on the Lazy T Ranch. She/He will ensure functionality, cleanliness, upkeep and usable condition and readiness of facilities, work areas, common areas and residences while staying within and managing their budget.
The desirable candidate is an individual with the capacity to facilitate the ranch’s vision. An individual who has the experience to manage a fast-paced and diverse approach to getting things done who is flexible, adaptable and has a let’s get it done team approach and attitude.
Residences, Facilities & Buildings – The ranch has over 60 developed buildings including owner, staff and guest housing, barns, offices, entertainment & roping venues, refueling stations, cattle weigh stations, aviation facilities, gathering spaces, wellhouses, greenhouse and cabins. There are several maintenance and repair capabilities this candidate will need to be able to do themselves or have an acceptable level of familiarization working with to do this job.

- Filtering Systems (HVAC, water filters & reverse osmosis, air purifiers and humidifiers)

- Mechanical Locking Systems (doorknobs, locks, key management)

- Walk In Freezers
- Outdoor Kitchens and Entertainment Areas
- Residential Irrigation Systems (the Ranch has an Irrigation Technician on staff who may need assistance problem-solving)
- Routine inspections of buildings for security, pests, and repair issues.
- Seasonal opening and winterization shut down of guest and seasonal facilities.
- Construction – From time to time this position will be required to demo, build, remodel, or repair facilities on property.
- This could include replacing door frames, decks, porch/patio rails, outdoor cooking areas, etc.
- Painting & Refinishing – buildings, decks, rooms, repaired areas, etc.
- Building & Repairing – includes wood and metal work & framing, sheetrock work
- Electric & Plumbing – a basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing is required.
Other
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly manner with owners, co-workers, contractors and guests
- Ability to ensure that confidential matters remain confidential
- Remain open to tasks assigned by the Ranch Manager and be flexible to the needs of other ranch programs
- Able to research best practices, solutions and practical approaches to parts, repairs, replacement or upgrading of properties.
- Able to use computer and smartphone technology-based systems such as Outlook, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams), WhatsApp, Monday, Wi-Fi calling, and other programs/apps
- Provides own phone (Verizon recommended due to coverage) and most of the tools needed to ensure success in the work being done. The ranch provides a work service truck and work area/shop.
- Keep, manage and maintain a clean, organized and stocked warehouse, assigned ranch vehicle, home, and work areas.
- Help provide ranch coverage through a rotating work schedule.
- Assist with snow removal, feeding and moving livestock when necessary.
Required Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess and maintain a valid State of Wyoming driver’s license (or acquire it in a reasonable amount of time) and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.
- CPR and First Aid certifications as required
- Represent the ranch in a professional manner in both your professional and personal life.
- All other duties as assigned.
Salary – Salary is negotiable based on experience and may include a private residence with all ranch-provided utilities including internet paid.
- The position is a year-round full-time position and starts immediately.
- $40,000-$50,000 based on experience plus benefits
- Must be able to provide both personal and professional references.
