LOCATION SUMMARY

Nonami Plantation is located just outside of Albany, Georgia and is approximately 20 minutes from the Albany Airport. Nonami is a spectacular 8,813-acre plantation that primarily operates as a hunting property managed for the production of quail, timber and other wildlife. The property includes a multitude of longleaf and other pine, old oaks, pecan groves and farmland that provide habitat for quail, deer and other species of wildlife. The property has one Main House, a Guest House and several small guest cottages all situated near an 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. The property’s primary use is as a quail hunting operation with the necessary barn and kennels to provide a luxury wild quail hunting experience.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Housing will be provided in a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house. The house is not furnished and does not include a washer and dryer. Housing does include utilities except a land line telephone and internet.

The Main House Manager is required to reside onsite at the property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Turner Enterprises Management is currently seeking a dedicated Main House Manager to provide personal service to the principal owner, his family, and their guests. The employee will oversee and manage the residences which include, but are not limited to staff oversight, vendor management, event planning and coordination.

This position requires strong administrative and technical skills, excellent front-of-house service skills, and great customer service skills. An understanding of high-end guest services is required. Duties are often supervisory in nature but will also include hands-on work including, but not limited to: basic housekeeping, laundry, food prep, grocery shopping, lawn care and maintenance and any other duties as assigned by the Property Manager. This is a working Main House Manager position.

As a Main House Manager, the job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage the staff and provide oversight of all operations related to the Main House, Guest House, and Cottages.
  • Ensure cleanliness and general upkeep of the homes, performing basic housekeeping and laundry duties.
  • Provide oversight of general repair work, including annual projects that include chimney cleaning and scheduled renovations.
  • Partner with the Chef to provide oversight of the kitchen, assist with grocery shopping, meal planning, and food preparation as needed.
  • Oversee and assist with maintenance of the grounds, lawns, and flower beds around the Main House, Guest House, Guest Cottages, Barn, and Kennel.
  • Manage and coordinate guest schedules for onsite and offsite activities such as sporting clays, quail and turkey hunts, golf course, spa, tennis, dining reservations, etc.
  • Run errands and provide round trip airport transportation for guests.
  • Perform record keeping and reconciliation of house expenses.
  • Work with the Property Manager to plan and adhere to the Nonami Plantation budget.
  • Maintain accurate and impeccable inventory and other records related to home upkeep.
  • Plan, coordinate and oversee a variety of events such as weddings, birthday parties, cookouts, etc.
  • Maintain upkeep and cleanliness of recreational vehicles.
  • All other duties, projects, and tasks as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job requires supervisory responsibilities. The Main House Manager supervises three full-time employees. The Main House Manager is expected to organize the staff and make sure all duties are performed in an efficient manner while ensuring that guests have a consistent luxury experience.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

5 years’ experience in the hospitality industry or in guest services is required. 3 years minimum experience working in or supervising a luxury home is required. 3 years’ experience supervising 2 or more employees is required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.

Garden and lawn care experience and knowledge of lawn equipment and tools is highly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The employee must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The employee must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

The employee must be able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. The employee must be able to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

The employee must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

If position requires operation of a vehicle, the employee must possess a valid Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment. The employee’s driving record must meet the standards and requirements of the Company and the Company’s insurance carrier.

  • The employee must adhere to Company policies and procedures which are included in the Company’s Employee Handbook.
  • The employee must present documentation establishing both identity and employment authorization within three days of hire, pursuant to federal law.
  • The candidate will be subject to undergo pre-employment drug test, (after offer is given but before applicant has commenced work).
