The Box Elder Ranch
Central Montana ranch seeking full time employee. The ranch has historically been a conservatively and well-run cow/calf operation, running between 400-500 head of cattle. The ranch has multiple streams, which have allowed the cattle to spread over multiple pastures. Under the current operation, the cows calve in early Spring and wean in the Fall. Holistic practices, such as rotational grazing have been used and will continue. Low-impact grazing and conservative management have allowed rich soil and diverse native grasses.
There are over 500 acres of hay land, producing 1200 to 1800 round bales, which typically provides for the ranch’s needs under the current program.
Looking for a livestock manager. Must be open minded and progressive. Must be able to perform and manage all the duties associated with cattle and a horse herd. Applicant must be willing to perform guest services at owners request.
Must have a valid drivers license and drug free. Housing & utilities provided. Dogs & personal horses negotiable.
