Seeking a ranch hand or couple to live full-time on a 65 acre recreational ranch in Columbus, TX.
Housing provided – large house separate from owner house, utilities included.
Duties:
- Complete care for animals of the farm (horses, cattle, chickens, donkeys, etc)
- – – Regular feeding of the animals
- – – Working with local vet for keeping vaccinations up to date
- – – Cleaning of horse stalls, chicken coop, and water troughs
- – – Washing horses, spraying horses and cattle for flies
- – – Riding the horses regularly to keep them in good shape
- – – Maintenance of the riding tack
- Maintenance of pastures and landscaping (mowing, weeding, etc)
- Maintenance of the stocked ponds
- Maintenance of vegetable garden (weeding, watering, planting, etc)
- Maintenance of fences and general handyman repairs
- Maintenance of equipment used in running the ranch (mower, side by side, etc)
- Purchasing of animal feed and general supplies for running the ranch
- Running errands and shopping for the owner visits
- General cleaning of the main house once a week
Qualifications:
- Must be professional, organized and able to complete work in a timely manner
- Must be excellent communicators with the ability to clearly update the Owner's on all aspects of the ranch.
- Horse care and training experience a plus
- Pond maintenance experience a plus
- Gardening experience a plus
