Full job description
We are seeking an experienced Hunting Dog Kennel Tech with a passion for hunting dogs to join our team. Previous kennel tech and/or veterinary technician experience is beneficial. You will be responsible for the overall care and well-being of the hunting bird dogs at our facility.
Responsibilities:
- General care tasks such as health and well being of dogs, ensuring dogs receive proper nutrition, exercise, medical care and grooming.
- Monitor the health and well-being of the hunting dogs
- Assist in restraining animals for veterinary management
- Administer medications as prescribed by the veterinarian
- Keep meticulous records of dog health, weight, feedings, treatments, supplements, heat cycles, behavior and activities
- Engage in daily training activities and exercise with dogs
- Ensuring kennels, runs and facility are cleaned on a regular basis to maintain a clean and healthy environment
- Monitoring behavior of dogs
- Ordering and taking delivery of dog food, supplements
- Scheduling and facilitating routine vet appointments and as needed vet appointments
- Assist with the transport of hunting dogs
- Keeping open communication with Veterinarian, Hunt Program Manager and other kennel techs
Qualifications:
- Kennel tech or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of hunting dog breeds and their care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work irregular hours if needed, alternating weekends and some holidays
- Ability to keep meticulous records on dogs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year

Education:
High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
Veterinary technician: 1 year
License/Certification:
