Camp Augusta
Are you passionate about working with horses and youth in a fun, collaborative environment? Do you thrive on creativity and bringing new ideas to life, both with horses and within a camp community? Camp Augusta is looking for an additional Riding Instructor to help lead our dynamic equestrian program, ensuring both horse care and camper safety while delivering enriching and memorable experiences for our campers!
Equestrian Riding Instructors at Camp Augusta manage our herd of 10 horses and facilitate activities with our excited campers each summer. We teach a hybrid of English and Western and offer trail rides, horse care, and basic arena work. The goal of the equestrian program is to teach campers not just to ride but to love horses too.
Equestrian Riding Instructors leads program development working alongside other members of the equestrian team. In addition to running our program they are responsible for feeding & mucking as well as general herd maintenance. This role benefits from a person who is able to adapt their experience, teaching style, and philosophies to camp and can provide their insight while being open to collaboration. When not horsing around, EQ staff will participate in camp programs, evening programs, and supply camp magic.
We pay $9,000 to $12,000 —depending upon experience— for the main season dates (May 13th to August 9th).
In addition to summer salary, we provide on-site housing, staff training, and fresh-made meals to all staff.
Applicants must be 20 or older by May 2025.
Job Requirement: If you have quality riding experience we would be willing to pay for you to get your CHA certification -OR- CHA Level 2 Certification -OR- 300+ Hours of riding instruction experience.
