Topf Ranch
Position available on a cow/calf operation near Faith, SD. We are looking for a couple or individual to manage our heifer backgrounding ranch.
Primary responsibility would be feeding and caring for 1,400 head of heifer calves from October – May. Additional responsibilities would be helping the cow/calf divisions during branding and helping put up hay in the summer.
Applicant must have cattle feeding experience and be proficient in identifying and doctoring sick cattle. Applicant must be a self-starter as this is not a micromanaged position.
Applicant will be responsible to complete all day-to-day tasks as they see fit. Performance will be measured on death loss, maintenance of equipment and facilities, and condition of heifers when turned out on grass.
Pay is hourly with an extremely competitive starting rate. Housing is provided and personal horses allowed for ranch use.
