Job Overview: The Head Wrangler plays a vital role in creating an exceptional guest experience by leading trail rides, instructing beginner riding lessons, and overseeing all horse-related activities in a safe, professional, and engaging manner. As a key member of the lodge’s hospitality team, the Head Wrangler will interact regularly with guests and lead a team of wranglers to deliver unique, memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of wranglers to ensure smooth operation of daily horse-related activities.
- Guide trail rides and instruct beginner lessons, ensuring safety, engagement, and quality instruction for guests.
- Oversee the condition and cleanliness of the barn areas, including the tack room, office, restrooms, corrals, and arena.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including trail clearing, haying, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Operate equipment such as chainsaws and small tractors to support ranch and trail maintenance.
- Work closely with the Activities Director to develop and implement new programming and special events for guests and groups.
- Provide excellent customer service and be a resource for guests with questions or requests.
- Maintain high standards of horsemanship and ensure the well-being of the horses.
- Monitor the safety of guests and team members, implementing appropriate protocols and procedures as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Strong horsemanship skills with experience in western riding and basic horse training.
- Proven leadership abilities, including experience managing a team in a dynamic environment.
- Previous experience instructing beginner riders and leading trail rides.
- In-depth knowledge of horse care, including feeding, grooming, and overall health management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests and colleagues.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and operate ranch equipment safely.
- Previous experience in customer service and working in a guest-focused environment.
- Team driving experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Must be capable of performing physically demanding tasks such as haying, trail clearing, and operating equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay is between $22-$24 an hour plus tips
